To cast an exquisite piece of cement object, we get involved 4 different techniques in our standard operational procedures, with several operational tips and tricks, even new learners can produce good pieces. In this 2 hours workshop you can choose to MAKE 2 objects out of the following designs…

WHY CEMENT?

The origin of hydraulic cements goes back to ancient Greece and Rome; which consists of lime and volcano ashes. The extra strength of the classic Pozzolana cement rewritten the history of the Roman era. Until Industrial Revolution, Joseph Aspdin brought a new formula of cement to the world, namely Portland cement, which consists of a synthetic mixture of limestone and clay.
Being such an ancient material, cement is still one of the mostly seen materials nowadays.
The general impression to cement is rough, bold and heavy. But we found ways to make cement objects smooth, bubbleless and exquisite. By applying techniques we developed, we want to bring this very ancient material to your desktop, in form of an exquisite cement object.

This is the level of details we would like our participants to achieve. The tiny cylinder inside the wheel measures at 0.5 mm but if we do it right, we can still reproduce this tiny detail in the design. Cement carries strong strength, water proof material characteristics, yet it is brittle, so we could expect to use it as a porcelain object, we can use it normally, but we avoid dropping it. 水泥有好高嘅硬度同承重力，但水泥亦有脆嘅物料特質請以使用陶瓷嘅心態去使用水泥物件 可正常使用，但不要大力碰撞
